Glasgow Tigers 42 Workington Comets 48

Hi. Don't feel like analysing this one too much, so some rider ratings will have to do.

Travis - Not sure why he was out of the last heat, but he looked pretty speedy all day, a heat 13 3rd place apart. His pass on on Kildemand & Schramm on the 1st & 2nd bends in heat 10 was quite special though.

Lee - Scored fairly well, though he's ridden better and scored less.

Josh - Slow start, but an excellent late flourish. Had heat 15 been completed at the first time of asking, he'd have pulled in 13 or 14

Robert - Poor return from rider reserve. Hopefully he'll be back soon.

James - Got mugged twice by the flying Kildemand. Lost the bike in heat 15 as the Dane came under him. I was watching from the 3rd bend, so can't really say for sure, but it just didn't seem like there was any contact. A good number of people watching at closer quarters, along with the referee, thought the same too.

Jamie - Heat 2 apart, he never seemed to get in amongst the Comets.

Mitchell - Great ride in heat 4, but like Courtney, failed to make the difference on a day when the Comets tail wasn't too impressive.

Comets - Richard Lawsons gating was superb and he was untouchable when he hit the front. Schramm was pretty solid throughout and guest Jonasson was a class act, despite a heat one fall. Man of the meeting for the Comets though was Peter Kildemand. Two cracking passes and a 'never say die' attitude. I knew he'd be danger for us the moment I saw him attack Armadale on Friday night......

Tigers v Monarchs Heat 2

I've decided to upload this on the Blogger movie player, just to see how it looks. I'll still be putting the clips up on Youtube, but for purposes of posting here, I may decide to use the 'in house' player. I think it looks neater anyway...........

Youtube clip is here, along with all the others.....

Two New Signings For Glasgow

A big Glasgow welcome to young Aussies Josh Grajczonek and Mitchell Davey. They've been signed on two year deals and it's hoped that they can build their experience over the coming months in the hopes of becoming heat-leaders of the future. It's looking distinctly 'Team Oz' this year and whilst the team is no longer 'top heavy', it's also not exactly balanced either, with the three new signings being somewhat unknown quantities. Yes, Ross Brady's abilities are well known, but until the first wheel is turned many feel it's still something of a gamble. If he can come to terms with the track, I think it's one that will pay off. Still, the excitement level amongst Tigers fans is high, with two hot young talents and a prodigal son to enjoy along with the more familiar names. I'm expecting a slow start to the season, hopefully with Trent and Ross becoming 2nd and 3rd heat leaders in time. Robert ought to have a more consistent season in 08 and fingers crossed, we'll have big Lee back, either as a reserve or in the mid-order.

The new boys in action back home.

Mitchell Davey goes from 4th to 1st
