After a rather fine night at Berwick, The Tigers looked to build on the the previous two victories and climb the Premier League table. Alas, Magnus Zetterstrom helped put paid to that idea. Ably assisted by a team of efficient, if unspectacular team mates he took a 15 point max and made even the usually invincible Shane Parker settle for 2nd best. Glasgows decision to go with big hitting heat leaders like Stancl and Parker looked to have paid off early in the season, but whilst the evergreen Aussie has continually kept his side of the bargain, Stancl has looked decidedly 'in and out'. To be honest, this is the first time I've seen him bomb at Ashfield this season, but his performances in the southern tour didn't bode well. If Stancl doesn't gate, or if he doesn't get the places back by the 2nd bend, then it seems he never will. Robert Kseizak's stand in Robbie Kessler grabbed a mighty handful of points(11) , with the ever reliable Trent Leverington picking up a solid seven. The rest? Stancl managed a meagre five, Lee Dicken rode his nuts off (Heat 14, all the way on the high line)and only took three, Michael coles scored early and then disappeared (2) and the unfortunate David McAllan (1)got punted twice in the same heat, the 2nd time injuring his leg badly enough to be removed from the meeting. To function at all, the Tigers need Parker and Stancl in double figures and Leverington hitting between 7-11. If McAllan can get out of the 3-5 point range it's a bonus. Kseizack, Dicken and Coles need to be scoring maybe 11-15 between them.
