BUGGER!!! >:(

Shane comfortably leads Fisher and Tully in the final heat. A lap later and both Monarchs riders had thought christmas had come early.....

Glasgow Tigers 44 Edinburgh Monarchs 45
Still can't believe this one. Ok, so we had no chance over two legs, but it would have been a nice tail off to the season having beaten the Monarchs at home at least. It wasn't to be though.
The Tigers matched the Monarchs and then some, but hideous luck snatched the victory away in the last seconds of the meeting.
Shane (11)- Beaten only once before heat 15, by an on form Ryan Fisher, then disaster as his engine packed up in the 2nd running of the heat, leaving the Monarchs pairing to take a 5-0 and claim the match.
Robert (8)- A slow start, but he looked to be on for ten when he ran wide on the 3rd/4th bend combo and took a nasty fall, breaking his collarbone in the process. A speedy recovery to Mr K.
Trent (4)- A disappointing show from Trento. Only came alive in heat 13 when he did the needful and followed Shane home for what looked to be a pretty decisive 5-1
Lee (5)- Yet again, a great display from Lee, finding passing places where nobody else was, Five points was scant reward for some tenacious riding. Maybe a little too tenacious for some of the faint hearted Monarchs I was standing amongst.......... ;)
Peter (4)- Not a bad team debut for 'PJ'. A fall in his first heat, followed by a couple of fighting third places and a paid win. A bit more track time for him and he looks to be up on the pace.
Anders (6)- The obligatory engine failure didn't dampen his spirits and he clocked up two excellent heat wins. The reserve berth magic kicks in again. Looks pretty confident now.
Mitchell (6)- Looking better and better each week. Two fine heat wins, with only a fall late on ruining a very good day at the office.
The Monarchs had Ryan Fisher to thank for their win, with a whopping 17 points. Next in line was Andrew Tully with 9, though they did score solidly throughout the team.
Where my memory failed me, much of the info above was gleaned from the Unofficial Glasgow Tigers website and scorecard. Cheers Lioness!
