Balance+ Torque = Trials

A group of riders described by Bruce Brown in 'On Any Sunday' as the 'violin players of the motorcycle world'. Trials is about momentum and balance. It's about being able to turn your bike on a sixpence, as much as having the balls to gun it up near vertical climbs and fast flowing, rock strewn streams. Often, a rider will have to switch from subtlety to brute power and back again in the space of a few seconds.

First, the great Belgian rider Eddie LeJeune, traversing a tortuous Japanese indoor track. Obviously a composite of several attemps at the course, but some of the tricks and moves are out of this world.

Next up, a great Pro-Am Kickstart, featuring Diego Bosis, John Lampkin and Steve Saunders, along with the real stars of the show, the youngsters, some of whom look to be as competent as their pro counterparts. Make sure you check out the other two parts to the programme for the conclusion.

Scottish Six Days Trial. A section somewhere on Ben Nevis. A few 'Epic Fails' in there, along with some fine, powerful riding.

The old-timers turn. The infamous pipeline section of the Pre-65 Scottish. Looks easy, certainly compared to your average modern trials section. Try riding up it on a pr-65 4-stroke boneshaker...........
