Glasgow Tigers 44 Edinburgh Monarchs 46

A poor meeting for the Tigers, with only Shane Parker and James Grieves coming up with any sparkle. Mitchell Davey made his usual determined contribution from reserve, but sadly it was to be a rotten day for the usually lively Josh Grajczonek.

Guest reserve John Branney looked like he might pick up points throughout the meeting, but he was wiped out at the 1st bend of heat 7 and withdrew from the meeting. No bones broken as far as I know, but it looked mighty sore one (bitten by both bikes). A fast recovery to John, and hope to see him back with the Comets when they visit Ashfield at the end of the month.

Byron Bekker pulled in 2 points in heat one, but looked fairly pedestrian and failed to score again.

Changes seem to be afoot, with Peter Juul returning to his Scandinavian team duties. In his place comes a highly reccommended 22 year old Swede called Robin Tornqvist. Best of luck to both riders. Hope to see Peter back on these shores again someday, sometimes a step back can be just what a rider needs to build himself up again.

As for Robin, it'll be a tough introduction to British Speedway, but fingers crossed he can take to Ashfield like a duck to water.

Check the Official and Unofficial Glasgow Speedway sites for full press releases and news. The Unofficial has a meeting report and scorecard.
