Ross Brady takes the heat win from Tero Aarnio and a sick sounding Lee Dicken, giving Glasgow the two valuable league points in a match they never really looked like losing.

Sadly, this was one of the least exciting heats I've filmed. Heat 15 was a cracker, but what can you do? Any clairvoyants out there?

Great performance all round from the team. Stoney made an excellent stand in for Shane and Ross Brady produced an astonishing performance to pull in 16 points. Bring on the Brummies!

Back In Time.

Got these shots from my good friend Clairwil the other day, from the meeting against the Islanders last season. Her 'point & click' digital camera wasn't really up to taking action shots, but she did manage to come away with a few excellent, atmospheric snaps. I really like the way some of the cheaper cameras produce odd effects in the light.

A great result against Stoke the previous night saw the Tigers go into this match in a rampant mood. The aggregate point was a forlorn hope, but confidence was high of a win and two points. Tigers were without David McAllan, injured at Stoke, deploying Gary Beaton at No 8 and opting for R/R.



Localised showers just before 4pm meant a rather slimy track and the opening heat was tentative to say the least. Coles and Dicken didn't mess about in the reserve heat, but it took an on form Trent Leverington to make up for the slow start of Watson and Parker who only really hit their groove when the track started to dry.



A comfy win in the end and some decent performances from those further down the order.



Parker - Two 2nd places before he hit his stride. "nd to Watson in the final heat.

Watson - Like Parker, unsure of the wet track at first, but took his wins later in the day to take him into double figures

Leverington- Denied a full maximum by a bit of kamikaze riding from an IoW rider late on. A sore hand, but he made it out in the re-run heat to take 2nd and get his 'paid' maximum. It's funny, without a programme to take the scores, you tend not to notice Trent doing what he does until the end of the meeting. A third heat leader?

Ksiezak - Another so-so from Robert, he does his bit and took a heat win, but I think he has more in him.

Coles - So, what did he put in his tank? Sharp out the traps in heat 2 to lead Big Lee Dicken home and a bit of luck in the next one to claim a 2nd after both IoW riders dropped it, but it was in heat 11 that he pulled it out. Missing Holder due to exclusion, the race started with three and settled down with Leverington leading Gathercole. Colesy kept chasing though and after a Parker like stalking job, he scalped the IoW rider on the last lap to make an unlikely 5-1. Pity his bike blew in the next heat while lying third.

Dicken - After a great night at Stoke and some decent recent home meetings, Lee hit some bad luck. Looked at home in heat 2 on the wet stuff, more so than his more illustrious colleagues, but he dropped it twice, in heats 4 and 8 and the flying Coles denied him any more rides. I have to say, if the stories I heard from Stoke are true, then the big guy has attained hero status in my book. He's also riding really well just now and could well be worth a big bunch of points at reserve for the rest of the season.



Ok, a whitewash against Stoke and Berwick when they come to Ashfield nursing home defeats would be nice. If we start to pick up the odd bonus point as well, theres no reason why the Tigers can't make a decent fist of trying to get to the playoffs.

Also a shout for my mate Clairwil who came along with me for the first time on Sunday and seemed to thorougly enjoy herself. Hope to see her along again sometime, maybe without the rain showers and the flying mud.................
