Ok folks, wasn't at this one, due to a prior arrangement with a Scottish Cup Quarter Final at Firhill. Sounds like it was a cracking meeting though............. You can find the scorecard and report at both Official and Unofficial Tigers websites.

Normal service will be resumed for the Birmingham meeting on Sunday, weather permitting.

Nice to see Robert Ksiezak getting plenty of outings at No 7 for Belle Vue in the Elite League. With some luck, the constant riding should blow the cobwebs off a little quicker than usual and he can look to up his PL average.

Premier Trophy Semi-Final: Glasgow Tigers 49 (88) Kings Lynn Stars 44 (99)

This one looked to be going the way of the Tigers early in the proceedings, the defecit coming down to to as little as 3 points or so at one point. KL big hitters Daniel Nermark and Thomas Topinka used their tactical rides to good effect though and were ably assisted by the rest of their team, ensuring that Glasgows victory on the night would be nowhere near the sixteen point mark needed to take Shane, Craig, Trent and Co through to the Premier Trophy Final against Birmingham.
Shane had another good night, only missing a max after a dogged but fruitless chase of Topinka in heat 5. Craig Watson showed well with 11, though it could have been more had he not slipped off in the final heat. A valuable addition to the side and heres hoping he keeps it up. Trent Leverington once more pitched in with a decent score. 9 points doesn't really tell the full tale, as he was technically unbeaten all night, only an exclusion after falling in heat 13 blotting the copybook. Also worthy of mention was David McAllans 'never say die' ride in heat 6 to give Glasgow a glimmer of hope early on. He seemed to be riding for a 4-2, but a brilliant move round the outside of the last turn made it 5-1 and game on.....
Alas, he wasn't to show much more of that kind of fortitude and only managed a further two points. Robert Ksiezak rode fairly well to pick up 5, but a couple more points per match is what's in order. Lee Dicken (3), as ever, rode like his life depended on it, but ultimately his poor gating always leaves him too much to do. Michael Coles(3)might have had something to do with the final outcome of the match in the penultimate heat, but he came to a halt before he even reached the first bend and it was left to Ksiezak to roll home on his own in 2nd. Coles isn't an answer to anything as far as the Tigers are concerned and I do believe he ought to have taken that bearth at Oxford when it was offered to him.(ouch!) That said, who does one replace him with? Danny Warwicks don't exactly grow on trees.............
