It had to happen. Eventually, we all knew in deep down, that one day we'd see the great man walk off into the sunset into either retiral or another team. It would seem that there's still racing mileage in the old lad yet, but sadly not with the Tigers. It's not clear as yet who his new club will be, but we all look forward to seeing him visit next season, and hopefully not do too much damage to the Tigers.
It's been a pleasure watching Shane, even if the last two seasons haven't been all they could have for him, due to injury and illness. Some of his rides have been breathtaking. Too many to mention, but the showdown with Ryan Fisher during the Spring Trophy meeting this season past and the one man show against a rampant Monarchs the season before will live long, even if the score of that match has long since been expunged from the memory.
