Glasgow Tigers 43 Newcastle Diamonds 47

Funny how things can turn, isn't it? Sunday saw the Tigers go down narrowly in the last heat to a rampant Newcastle side which had very much done the business against Edinburgh Monarchs on the Friday at Armadale. Tigers had their fair share of bad luck (an EF for James & Josh seemingly running out of gas whilst leading a heat), as well as losing Mitchell Davey in heat 2 with concussion after an almighty three man pile up on lap 2, taking out Dakota North and the unfortunate Adam McKinna. Come the final heat, the Tigers were in need of a 5-1 to simply draw. A late appearance by Mark Lemon, followed by the inevitable exclusion and re-instatement from 15m possibly played into the hands of Newcastle, as the inside gate wasn't really where anyone wanted to be. Still, if it was a planed move, nice one Newcastle, get some use from it before they ban it... ;)

Travis - 11- Gates well, but not quite imperious around Ashfield. It'll come.

Josh - 9 - Looked awesome on Sunday apart from sputtering to a halt in heat 11 and coming off 3rd best in the final heat.

James - 5 - Not a great day. One tail end performance and an engine failure

Lee - 2 - Took a sore one in heat 1. Dusted himself down and rode to a couple of 3rd places

Robert - 9 - Lightning out of the gate. A good meeting from the in & out Aussie.

Mitchell - Withdrawn - Wiped out in his first heat whilst following Dakota North, at least as far as the rest of the weekend was concerned. North seemed to slow or lock mid corner and Mtchell couldn't react quickly enough, leading to a fair amount of carnage.

Jamie Courtney - 7 - 1st heat win for Jamie, along with a 2nd place & two thirds. Good stuff!

Of course, it was made alright 24 hrs later as the Tigers dominated at a rather heavy looking Brough Park track, with the help of an distinctly on form Craig Branney, in for the concussed Mitchell Davey, along with Travis & James being on-song, ably supported by Lee & Josh.

Hurrah!
